South Africa’s history will always be remembered by those who survived apartheid, but the future will be determined by those who choose to move past it. The term “UBUNTU’’ refers an ancient African word meaning ‘humanity to others’ but it can also mean ‘I am what I am because of who we all are’.
This conference themed ‘UBUNTU’ asks the question, ‘How would future young minds see service as an educational moral enterprise that develops and shapes minds.’ Redefining the world as a complex whole of interconnected and interdependent ecosystem of diverse humans and communities. The Conference explores the multiplicity of worldviews that promotes inclusivity while fostering autonomy and humanity. It is the dialogue and the shared experience of the participants that the Conference hopes to create regenerative space for positive social change.
The Conference is designed to promote values of mutually beneficial cooperation and collaboration, whereby even competition would mean striving toward achieving the greater good to enhance our shared humanity.
